This weekend, I saw the movie 27 dresses. I was particularly drawn to this “chick-flick” because it was about weddings. And since I’m getting married soon, I couldn’t miss it, (and I like Katherine Heigl) But I digress. The movie was getting some pretty rough reviews then I looked at who was reviewing it and saw that they were all men! I would hope that most men would not be drawn to this particular type of movie anyway so why were they even reviewing it! I thought that is was a great and cute story without (too much) sex, language, and nudity. I found it funny and emotional at the same time, which to me, is the sign of a good chick-flick. A lot of the reviewers thought it was cheesy and that things like that many of the films events are unrealistic. My favorite part (and many of the reviewers favorite) was the scene where Heigl tries on all of her 27 horribly ugly bridesmaid dresses she has worn. Its a really cute, witty, and entertaining scene that I laughed and cringed at each dress. My favorite line that is repeated throughout the movie is when all the Brides tell her that the dress is great because you can shorten it and wear it again. This made me laugh because I have been told that same exact statement and have also said it myself. I give it a B+!
